Chenies 2009
In 2009 a record 432 walkers took part in the annual Chenies Spring Walk. Although the weather was gloomy and it did rain a little, walkers’ spirits were not dampened. The feedback we got was very positive and participants were looking forward to joining us again next year. It was lovely to see the same supporters again and also great to see many newcomers to this event. Almost £6,000 was raised from the walk. Thank you to all of those who took part and we hope to see you all next year. Please help us continue the success of this event by encouraging friends, family and colleagues to join you next year.

since 1910 |
Teams of four are welcome and you can click here to download a booking form. Individuals can also apply and we will endeavour to put you together with a team. For further information or to make a telephone booking please contact Rina on 01923 844290. Last year’s golf day was a great success raising £6160.33 and participating teams enjoyed good golf in lovely sunshine. Through the day staff and volunteers held a Name the Teddy competition, betting at one of the holes, a table sweep and of course the charity auction. Once again Barclays Bank very kindly match-funded some of these fundraising activities. Finchley Seniors headed by our Trustee Paddy Kelly took first team prize with Matthew Arnold and Baldwin coming in a close second. |

2009 Christmas Fayre attracts best support yet
Last year’s Christmas Fayre was a fabulous success raising more money than the previous two years – with trader and customer support the event raised a fantastic £1650 towards the Scanner Appeal.
Visitors were spoilt for choice with all the great Christmas gifts on offer and our own stalls had many bargains donated by generous supporters. Once again Hall’s of Hazlemere donated delicious sausage rolls which went down nicely with a cup of tea or coffee.
Thank you to everyone for their tremendous support – especially all our volunteers who helped make the day a real success.
To book your stall for this year’s fayre please contact Appeals on 01923 844290 – hurry as places go really fast! Please watch this space for further updates confirming event date and event location.
