BREAKING NEWS
Latest developments
We have recently installed two new scanners of
advanced design; the latest PET/CT scanner
from GE and the new Siemens Somatom dual source CT scanner. These provide the most advanced technology for the early, accurate diagnosis of cancer and other serious diseases and will enhance our work with cardiology and prostate cancer.
We constantly seek new opportunities to benefit patients and therefore we will be acquiring shortly a replacement 1.5T MRI scanner. This will be used in conjunction with our existing 3.0T scanner, the only one for clinical use in the UK.
Patient comfort and relaxation are important. The extensive refurbishments recently completed at the Centre resulted in a larger, more comfortable reception and waiting area and improved patients changing facilities.
Celebrating 25 life saving years
In 2010 the Centre celebrates its 25th anniversary – a
proud achievement.
Throughout these years, Paul Strickland Scanner
Centre has remained at the forefront
of scanning technology, providing patients with the finest
service using the most advanced scanners. We have been actively involved in research and have continued to invest in staff development to ensure our unique knowledge and expertise is used to the full.
We are grateful to all our donors, supporters and volunteers who have helped us for the past 25 years and who we hope will continue to do so in the years to come. We are especially grateful to our Board of Trustees and staff, whose dedication and hard work have made such a difference to so many patients.
We are planning various events to celebrate our special year in 2010. Watch this space to find out more!
