what would prevent me having a scan?

• Having a pacemaker/defibrillator
• Having a programmable brain shunt
• Having aneurysm clips
• Certain metal heart valves
• Metallic fragments in the eyes
• We also prefer not to scan ladies in the early months of pregnancy.

It is important to know if you have had surgery which may have involved metal clips, any pins, plates, joint replacement or implants to determine which scanner you go on.
