PET/CT technical information

A PET/CT scan is a non-invasive, diagnostic, imaging modality that allows clinicians to see if there is cancer present within the body. Although it is not a form of treatment the scan results may be used to modify or influence the type of treatment in order to optimize any therapeutic effect.

We have installed a second PET/CT system, the GE Medical Systems Discovery VCT, which will enable new directions including vascular and cardiac imaging with both modalities. The Suite will be enlarged and redesigned to make for greater patient comfort and a better working environment for staff. This will keep our place at the forefront of PET/CT imaging.
