Without the research and dedication from Paul Strickland Scanner Centre I would not be as well as I am today - amazing people and I would like to thank them so much.

The meticulous attention to detail, coupled with true understanding of the implications of their reporting in the clinical management of cancer, are the reasons why I put my trust in PSSC radiologists

Why choose us?

Our expert team of radiographers and consultant radiologists specialise in high level scanning techniques not always provided in other centres and which serve our patients well in oncological and non-oncological imaging.

Our continuous scanner replacement programme means we can take advantage of the latest scanning techniques not always available on older scanners.

We offer a variety of scanning protocols, including whole-body MRI, low-dose and dual energy CT scanning, as well as a variety of tracers in PET-CT scanning

Quality and patient focus

Unless requested otherwise, all our scans are reported by a consultant radiologist, or occasionally a senior specialist registrar.

We’re a patient-focused, independent medical charity and our team of radiographers achieve excellent feedback from patients due to their kind, compassionate approach and outstanding service.

We’re fully accredited with the prestigious Quality Standard for Imaging (QSI), which ensures patients consistently receive high quality services, delivered by competent staff working in safe environments.

NHS, Private referrals and enquiries

Every year we help thousands of patients who need MRI, CT or PET-CT scan. It’s easy to refer to us and we promise that we’ll be in contact and have the scan completed and reported within fewer than 14 days.

Following a scan, all our scan images are securely transferred to the referring hospital, ready for review by the medical team who requested the scan.

Making a referral

Patients

If you feel you need a scan, the first thing to do is to speak to the doctor who manages your care because you will need a doctor to refer you to us before we can scan you. This is the case for both NHS and private patients.

GPs and private consultants

We can accept MRI and CT private referrals from GPs, but for PET-CT scans we will need a private consultant referral. We have contracts with all major insurance companies and accept any private referrals.
